Posted by smART bookx Stationery on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 Under: Fine Art and Floral
Four stationery items to choose from:

Above: Starry Night (left), Sunflowers (center) and Almond Blossom (right) [all 5" x 8" Notebooks]
Below: Sunflowers Project Book / Large Journal [8" x 10"]

Customer Review, Jan 2015: "I really love the journal! The cover seems like it has a matte finish to it, so smooth and so vibrant! The only reason I gave it 4 stars would be the binding. It's a little stiff but you need to not be scared to open it fully. But definitely something I would love to carry around in school, or traveling!"

Vincent van Gogh was a highly charged, passionate Dutch expressionist artist, sadly most renowned for cutting his own ear off after an argument with fellow artist Paul Gauguin. His art genius was, ironically, closely linked to his violent mood swings which while sometimes rendering him suicidal (he eventually took his own life at the young age of 37) would, at others, supercharge his imagination and creative capacity (in the two months prior to his death van Gogh completed one piece of art every single day.) He was a compassionate man and his first masterpiece The Potato Eaters was inspired by the poverty he witnessed as a young clergyman in the peasant farming communities of the Dutch Brabant. Following the realism of The Potato Eaters, van Gogh moved on to the brightly colored, broad brush stroked, expressionist art for which he is best renowned. His use of complementary colors, particularly combining blues and ochres, is evident in his Sunflower Series, Starry Night, Noon Rest from Work, Almond Blossom, Wheat Field with Cypresses and Irises (which is on back of our Sunflowers notebook). The three we currently publish on notebooks are popularly bought as womens gifts and floral / stars stationery.
